Default How does nitrous work?

Is there a specific time when you should press the button for nos on a standard or no? For instance as soon as you get in 3rd, 4th? And can you shift wile the nos is going?

Not trying to throw you under the bus or anything, cause everyone says it. You're running nitrous oxide (N20), not NOS. NOS is just a certain brand of N20. There are a few brands out there, but NOS just seems to be the most common.

Most nitrous kits will state you shouldn't engage nitrous below a certain rpm like 3500. If you're racing, your rpms shouldn't be below 3500 and yes you can shift but make sure you're able to powershift and not overrev the engine. That's why I prefer nitrous controllers like the Nitrous Mastermind or the NOS Controller. You set the minimum and maximum rpms for the nitrous to be on and if you go above or below, it'll shut off the nitrous flow.
