Not to be a hater on our foxes or you... but its REALLY hard to believe to beat him and kept pulling on him.... i've got about the same mods as you minus the 373's and i raced a ls1 T/A... that kid would take me by two three cars everytime... if it was an LT1 you could prolly have taken him...but those ls1 cars are nasty... jmo...

The old Snake Carrol Shelby has it best "horsepower sells cars, torque wins races"...that LS1 has alot more torque, that is why it will whip you everytime, I've seen those LS1 trans ams bark the tires in 3rd with no problem, you'll need full headers, a quick shifter, tires, cold air and then some to hang...it can be done, I had on old 5.0 highway patrol car that could kill a Corvette, full 2.5" exhaust was a big help..save up, get some killer heads too and then you can bark with the big dogs...

i wouldn't say just because a ls1 has 211k it's wore out by any means. just depends how well it's been maintained. saw one run on pass time (t.v show) with 200k on it with few bolt ons run 12.8 1/4. having owned a t/a with ls1 and 6 speed, they are not to be taken lightly. this also coming from a guy, that recently just bought my 8th mustang, and yes all v8's. for years i had out run a few, but after owning a ls1 and driving it, i quickly realized i out ran the driver.
i wouldn't base anything off just one ls1! a little heads up, 01 and 02 are stronger than 98-00. the bad part, it's hard to find a near stock ls1. oh and with 6 speed, 3rd gear is very sweet gear, 4th isn't to shabby. if the ls1 is a 6 speed with 3.42, 3rd gear runs out at 100, 4th will get you right at the 130 mark. anyway have fun & be safe
i dont think so he ran 14.7 and i ran 15.5 with the mods i listed i should get him EXPLORER INTAKE, 70mm Tb, upr CAI, x pipe, 373 gears, borla cat back, i should gain atleat 1 second on my ET

I also find it hard to believe. Those LS1 are very strong cars with gobs of torque all over the place. You are going to need some sort of power adder or heads, cam, intake.
