1987 mustang swaped 1991 truck motor,swithed timing cover with manual fuel pump cover,cannot get right direction on water pump,spins counter clockways

you need to be more clear on what you did and what you want.what did you put engine in and what did it come out of what cover did you use from what engine?

Welcome to the site.
You need to make sure that you have the right water pump for the engine you have. There are water pumps that flow in reverse because of the serpentain belt setup. You may have to get the one for the 1991 truck.

I have a 1991 truck block with the 1987 timingcover for my manual fuel pump ,i used the gasket for the mustang block and that part was right. i have the water pump for the truck on now but it should be spining clockwise. all i can come up with is counterclockwise spin with what i have now. i dont know if i need an a/c delete pulley or not. i am lost. this is my first full blown project. i will not give up. please correct me if this is not enough info.please tell me what iam leaving out to get help? thanks for any help you can give. please be forgiving i am just starting on computer.

Mustangs spin counterclockwise and the fan is the same. what direction do you want to go? what did the cover come off of? you can get a crown vic water pump that should fit your cover and will spin clockwise that is what we are running on our car. they do make different covers also that maybe some of the issues that you are having. are you gone to run a electric fan ? or are you gone to get a sad. rotation fan to use? you wont be able to run the stock one with a std. rotation water pump.

Get a Mustang water pump, and the problem should be solved. The truck pump turns clockwise and is wrong for a serpentine setup.
