Default 1992 Mustang GT vs 1986 Monte Carlo

I have a 1992 Mustang with 5.0L 5 spd manual, mods include CAI, and aftermarket exhaust. Would I win against the 86 MC (stock, auto trans)?

This wasn't even considered a race in the old days when these cars were new. The max H.P. for a 305 Monte was 190. They were heavier as well. Unless you don't know how to drive or the Monte isn't stock you will pull bus lengths. Most of the Monte's around here lost their 305's years ago. The engine bay will easily accomodate anything short of a Pratt Whitney engine. Most around here are 350s and some are 383 stroker motors.

wouldn't even be a race, monte's are tanks, even if it had a mild 350 in it producing 250-275hp you probably would still pull on it and beat it......those cars are just to beefy.........

They were slugs when they were stock, even if it had a 350. They were smogged and underpowered. If it's modified, then there's no telling what the deal is.

If he says 350, don't panic, because cubes aren't everything.

He lied about it being stock, I still won by about a mile. My tires spun a bit but still got him off the line and then it was smooth sailing. We raced on a stretch of road by me, its about 2 miles long. I could not tell how fast I was going after 140mph so i just coasted the rest i was so far ahead.

1. Well based on the highlighted area.......

I will say you both loss......

there is never a winner in a street race

Except for the people you did not kill this time.....

Highlighted area #2

The color used for the type and the reference number (2) pretty much says it all.....

Im pretty sure the 95 has a speed limiter.

Here are all the mods: CAI, BBK headers, BBK offroad x pipe, flowmaster 40 series muffler, iron heads swapped for aluminum, removed the rear seat to lose weight, and new injectors.

The speed limiter is approx 250 horespower at the crank with the mods listed above......

yep thats it 25-40 tops.....

and that is at the crank so subtract 12% for parasitic driveline loss

which will not render 140 mph top speeds......
