Default Dexcool in a ford?

I have recently been aproached by a gentlemen who is a chevy tech for 25-30 years. I am going to be building a 331 stroker and he gave me 4 gal of dexcool(gm coolant). Now i know the history behind this crap.
1: its garbage it blocks all your coolant passages causing overheating, and replacement of parts if not flushed and changed regularly.
Im sure it wont be the last gm radiator i pick up and it weighs 45lbs.
But on the good side
1: If for some reason you lose a head gasket and coolant gets in the oil (and this does happen im sure you guys know that) the dexcool wont harm bearings like the green coolant will.
Now im not much of a bowtie fan and would rather stay away from this crap coolant but i wont be running nowhere next to a stock motor and he may have a point there. Except for the fact i have cometic mls head gaskets for the car so hopefully they wont let go.
Let me know what you guys think on this.

Haven't heard that stuff before. I use it myself (the orange, right?), and it's supposed to work with cooling systems that have a lot of aluminum like the radiator and water pump, and heads. That's why GM uses it, because they use so much aluminum in their engines.
That's what I was informed about it, and why I use it.

Well i have seen the down side to this coolant and its nature to having rust build up. Or to me it looks like rust. Gm has recalls on this coolant because of that issue so they are aware of it. As for it not washing bearings out thats coming from a gm tech so i will take his word on that not that i would run my motor if i had coolant in the oil. Yes the gm coolant is the orange stuff although ford makes a yellow coolant.

yea its had recalls. it eats away at some gaskets and does block coolant passageways. my wife had a grand am and the coolant ate away at the intake manifold gaskets and the dealership said it was very common for it to happen with the cars that have dex cool.

It's a shame GM screwed so many people by making them pay for repairs caused by this KNOWN PROBLEM when their cars were out of warranty.
So many cars were affected and many were not, go figure..
There is or was a class action lawsuit regarding this, I know this from reading the GM forums also.

Use Dexcool at your own risk

Just run a 60% Distilled 40% green coolant with a bottle of water wetter and never worry about potential problems! Is Sacramento HOT all year long? If so use a 70-30 mix!
