Hi all,
I'm looking to maximize my current combination and as such I'm looking for some advice. You can see my current combination in my signature.
I have already ordered a pushrod length checker and that is the first thing that I'll do.
However, the GT40X heads aren't the best (64cc chamber milled .010 inch). The E cam's power band is a mismatch to the RPMII intake. E cam was in the car when I bought it and I bought the RPMII five years ago when I thought a supercharged 347 was inevitable. Things change.
The car is driven around 4000 miles annually. Goes to the drag strip once or twice a year, otherwise, it's a cruiser to Dairy Queen with the kids and or wife kind of thing. Of course, torque is fun and I'd like more. I'd love to eclipse the 300hp rwhp figure.
So, would you change the intake? Eddy Performer 5.0 or Trick Flow Street or something else? Would you change the cam? To what and why? How about leave the E cam and just put on some 1.7 rockers? Even the heads are on the chopping block. Maybe some AFR or Eddy there too or for something different Brodix, etc.
Bring on the mind candy...

with the setup you have its still pretty good. The e-cams are old at this point and there are a lot better cams out there now. There are some good of the shelf cams like trick flow cams but you masy want to look into getting a custom grind if you plan on making further mods. The intake you have is a good intake with potental to be even better with some porting. As for the heads there are good but again there is better. Putting some trick flow or afr heads on there will make a big difference when you install a different cam to go with it. Hope this helps you out a bit

Personally, I would keep the intake but change the heads and cam. For the heads, I'd go with the AFR 185, TFS Twisted Wedge, or Dart Pro 1.
Have to decide on what heads first before we can talk cam.

Ask me why I ran "only" a 13.54.

Thanks for the input y'all.
I was checking out Jay Allen's website. Pretty interesting stuff.
After some lessons in reality, it looks like I will have to keep the GT40X heads at least for now. So, maybe a nice cam to account for everything else is the answer. I don't want a lessor intake as I'd hate to go backwards with things.

I would keep the heads. I saw someone at the track last Friday with the same heads, Explorer intake (ported) and a custom grind cam. He was running low 13's on some 275 wide street tires...
