You said you have $6K invested in your car? Where is it "invested"?
This is just my opinion...
The only FOX bodies that are going to be worth any money in the future are going to be completely stock special editions such as the 7-up, Cobra's, GT350's, etc.
But the GT's, LX's and other "base" models I don't see going anywhere in the future. The only way I can see the GT's or LX's bringing in big money is if they are very low miles and UNTOUCHED.
Just look at how hard it is to find a completely stock FOX in good condition. Almost all the ones you'll find are either modded to the max or are in bad shape or a mix of both.
I wouldn't depend on your GT to bring in much money, so I say just do what you want with it.
If you think your GT is going to be worth more money later on and plan on selling it, then keep it stock.
