i recently came across a used mac offroad h-pipe for a steal. would i need equal length or shorty headers with this pipe? what exactly is the difference? what came on the car from the factory? as always, any help is greatly appreciated.

if its ment to bolt right up your stock manifolds/shorties would work fine.

Either equal length or shorty would work with it, only long tubes won't.
The stock headers were shorty, and an equal length header is just that... all of the tubes are the same length and equalize out the exhaust pulses. They're a bit harder to install but nothing major, not like long tubes are.
