Default where is my oil going?

i just replaced the oil and filter on my 91 gt and i was down a quart and 1/2. i have not one drop of oil on the driveway. the car is dry underneath. what could it be. the car has 147,000 miles. she also feels sluggish until around 3000rpm. any ideas?

I would think the rings are worn and the car is eating some of the oil. Have you done a compression check?

If there's no leak and nothing is wet, then it has to be going out the exhaust.

in how many miles? Some consumption esp at that age would not be uncommon...did you know Infinitis are notrorious for oil consumption? A qt every 750 miles! Yeah, the price of high performance and a dirty little secret

Low tension rings on a 147k mile motor. You should check your oil every 3 days or so, if you are driving it on the regular. Ford did not have a problem stating that acceptable oil use was 1qt every 3000 miles.

Hey, have you lost oil since that first time? Cause your car will take around 5.5 instead of 5 qts of oil when you change your filter too. Maybe since you drove it after you filled it up, it now needs a little more. It has happened to me, or maybe im a dumba$$. Anybody else experience that?

Spoke to a guy at the local Ford dealership and he said it's normal oil loss for a car almost 20 years old with that much mileage. i still want to know where its going?

Its going in your intake and out your exhaust. Just like the rest of us.
A 20 year old car = 20 year old car problems.
