Default Changing rear differential gear

I have a 95 GT with 5.0. It has the stock 3.08 gears in it, and it is a 5 speed manual.
I just bought a Ford 8.8 /3.55:1 ring and pinion off of ebay. ($49.00)

1) What is all involved in changing them out.
I am pretty mechanical, but never done anything with gears before.

2) Do I need to change the speedo gear. How many teeth needed if i do?

3) Are there any other parts that must be changed out when doing this mod?

4) Will I notice a huge difference in the "take off" after the mod?

In advance, thank you for everyones input and answers.

I had pretty much the same stang and went to 3.73's and it was like nite and day difference. felt like i gained 50rwhp, though i really didn't. Later went to 3.55's and i didn't like it. went to 4.10's later on and it was awesome.
Are those gears used? i would be very cautious about used gears. If you look up speedo gears, you'll find the right color to get. with a 95, you most likely will need a bearing kit, 3 bottles of royal purple gear oil and google some instructions on it. It's not the easiest if you've never done it before.

2oo5GT....Ive been trying to find out which color speedo gear i need and I keep coming up with different answers. I am hoping for someone that had this same car and did the same thing can just tell me to get the 23 teeth white one, or what ever it is....
As far as the gear oil, I got a buddy that works at a major oil manufacturer and he made me up some of the same gear oil that they use in NAS Car. And it was free. Sorry I cant say what company.
By the way what didnt you like about the 3.55's?
