Question 1991 Mustang GT Aod Tranny Bellhousing Broke

I purchased a 91 mustang gt 5.0 and i took it into shop the day after to get the flex plate replaced. Due to the fact when i started the car it was abubtly loud when starting. After replacing flexplate, the feller started it and it sounded the same and i was confused, so i questioned him about it and come to findo out a piece of tranny was broke. Now when i say peice i was a chunk where 2 bolts would mout to my engine, was gone, he said he could stick his hand trough it. now whats the easiest fix for this problem? new tranny, new casing, help help help, and by the way, im driving it like that, due to the fact, it shifts great and havent had any problems with it yet. but def want to get it fixed

Time to replace it before someone gets hurt. Are you sure it not just the cover missing that exposes the torque convert? Or was it actually the tranny that is broke?

Soundsl ike you just need a new bellhousing, why would he put it back together like that? Sounds like you need to find a new shop!

The AOD has a solid case so you need a new trans. Having two mounts broken off could cause the transmission to separate from the engine, causing a huge disaster. Start looking for another transmission.
