Where I'm at labor is about $200.00 + parts so alittle quick math says no. But where you are it could be good. I would shop for awhile then decide.

It was a good deal until rear end rebuilds available. That price is a rear end rebuild. The speedo costs $10 and takes 20 min to fix.

600 is 20 hours of labor. Cheap here. you could get the whole thing rebuilt, plus the rear end H/C/I and whatever else you need. For that.
When I cant do it myself I have a mechanic do it. He is old school.
Stop by your local shop. And ask questions. You need a "Ford guy" or guys. Meaning a Lead Mechanic that drives a bad ass Ford for a DD. A lot of people are "charging by the book" these days. That means piece work.
That means that if the book says it takes 3 hours to replace an alternator you will get charged for 3 hours of labor even if it takes 20 minutes. Most mechanics can do it in less than that. Thats their dirty little secret.
A lot of guys that work in shops will do work on the side for cheaper, you just have to get to know them.
