Default 1989 Mustang cylinder heads question

I'm am considering buying a lx (89' i think) from a friend. If i buy it, we are going to convert it to a 5.0l. I'll have to double check on the internals but, if the heads are not already after-market, I am going to get them as one of my first mods to the car. (3.73 gears already in rear-end )

Does anyone have any suggestions for cylinder heads that won't break the bank (~$500-600) but will still perform? I will only run the car at the track once or twice a month likely. once all the right mods are added. (control arms, sub-frame connecters, ect...)

I would suggest some World Products heads, they outperform the P heads (which others will more than likely suggest) while being around $500. Plus the World heads don't require the P specific headers.

If you spend a few hundred more the Patriot Perf. Aluminum heads are a decent option for the cost.

I'm still very much so a greenhorn when it comes to this stuff. Thanks for helping me out.

i'll see if any local dealers carry them.
Also, is camshaft lift directly related to the CFM produced by the cylinder heads? Such as: if you have a 550 lift cam, will it increase the CFm of the cylinder heads as opposed to a stock cam?

If so, would the same be the case for upper and lower exaust manifolds, throttle body, MAF?

and if i can deviate here,

How is back pressure related to engine performance? I here some things about it, and the concensus seems to be that the lower the back-pressure, the better. Is this true?

A cam doesnt change what the cylinder heads actually flow(number wise).

Less back pressure is always a good thing, it helps the engine operate easier.
