Default NEED ADVICE! ...again

I appreciate the help I've recieved on my 347 build but now I have to scrap that and I'm pretty mad. The 302 at 196,000+ miles had catastrophic failure and I'm just going to start fresh with a 351 as that was my next build plan anyway. So I don't wanna assume I have to learn all over again what parts will work with the 351 as far as I understand, most parts are interchangeable minus a few such as accessory brackets and oil pump shaft, etc etc.

So I'm on a quest to look for a 351 block. The goal is a carb'd application, 408 stroke all motor. But the foundation is the most important part. So, I'd really appreciate if you guys could let me in on what 351 block is the best to find, what to look out for, pros, cons of the block you offer and so forth.

I understand that there is a 351m block out of trucks that is undesirable (at least from what I've heard) and I just plain need help. Thanks in advance.

there is a stout 434 stroker based off the ford 351m/400 block

the 351m/400 block uses a big block bell housing and yeah they are doggy motor i have one in my 79 F250 good for low end tq thats about it lol

71 and below if you want a ford block or the 351 boss block that is now out or the good companies also make the 351 blocks that will handle alot of power.

there is a vid on youtube of a bumpside ford truck with a 408 and it is nasty mean

Check out this thread. PM the guy and see if you two can wheel and deal. Just do it privately.
