so me and my friend wer heading home from hooters. due to traffic, we cut thru a neighborhood using backroads. we passed a house with a mustang for sale, so like any of y'all would, i stopped
its got lots to offer
1990 white GT
--factory black interior (premium package?)
--factory rear posi/locker
--25th anniversary badges with red fender trim
--5 speed with zoom clutch
--sunroof (never opened)
--new tires and brakes (turbine wheels)
--new lights and weatherstripping (front to back)
--100% stock engine...including weird intake plaque and air silencer
it looks like new, with the exception of a dent on the hood (tree limb fell on it during winter ice storm)
downside....180k miles. hes asking 5 thousand, but said he was flexible since the economy is rough.
also, he had a 92 maroon gt
--gray/black interior
--5 lug converion ('95 tri-spoke wheels)
--3:73 gears
--B&M shifter
--fidanza flywheel and clutch
--BBK intake and pulleys
--BBK headers/flowmasters
--eibach springs sway bars
--lx taillights/cobra rear bumper
its in rough shape, but driveable, and has a clean title. 165k miles
hes asking 4 thousand for this one, but also willing to bargain.
as if these finds werent enough, i found this house is an actual shop..not just a guy selling his car. we walked around his back yard, and there are tons of parts, especially for 4-eyed foxes and 65-72 stangs.
sitting around was a 66 coupe, 83 coupe, 85 gt, 2 84's, 86 svo, 89 gt, 92 coupe(drag race prepped), old school zephyr street rod, and 67 vert. these are just sitting in a yard awaiting much needed TLC, and he said everything is for sale.
before leaving he showed me his collection...OMFG!!!
---68 gt500 vert..100% original, no need for restoration, 1 of 350 made, only 2k miles. no stripes, original poly' tires.....it was on a storage lift in a plastic bubble
---84 detamoso pantera gt..350 miles, pearl white, 1 of 45 made, 5k miles...freaking sweet
---65 mustang vert...red, white top and interior 100% restored.
---40 ford p/u truck. NSRA member. nitrous injected 408 with 6 speed. fink/rat rod look. awesome
and to top it off, i passed a 351 cleavor buildup on an engine stand while exiting the building
Thats too much for those cars. That first one has nothing special except black interior only worth 3500. and the second sounds like its not worth much at all.
i thought 6k cash would seal the deal for both. make the white one my DD, and keep the red one as a project. get out from under 2 car payments before my 2010 gets here
Typical Mustang owner, on the way home from Hooters and all he can think about is how to get his hands on yet another Mustang.
There is nothing wrong with getting your hands on "another mustang"...which I have done several times over haha..
Except one thing, My finds were 89 5-0 hatch lx, 93 and 2 91 model all 4 cylinder cars. Best find yet was my 93 gt. the 89 was only 300 and dug it out of a field with a bobcat, run great. the other 3 4 cylinder cars were junkyard specials, with really no problems at all. they all runs right now too, and my 93 gt was one of those "backroad way home" finds. picked it up the next day hahhaaaa
i went back. offered 3500 cash for the 90. he wasnt too pleased with the idea, but said he'd think about it. the other gt has since been sold, and was in the front awaiting pick-up
and to the hooters comments...i was sober, i had the shrimp, and i wasnt under any influence of anykind.(well, almost).. i have ONE waitress. we are regulars there, (we stop buy after work quite a bit), and she's our favorite. shes a mustang fan, really cool, and fine as all get out.
The gang at work used to go to Hooters every week or two for happy hour. We'd play a game on the newbies in the group. We'd see if they knew the waitress's name after her first visit to the table. Seems the ladies would always read her name tag first off, and the guys wouldn't get it until about the third pitcher. On my newbie day the waitress stood right beside my seat on my left. I couldn't even tell she had a tag on her shirt.

If it looks right, it is right, and I decide if it looks right. Paraphrasing Sir Sydney Camm (of Hawker aircraft IIRC)
not alot to offer if you ask me seems like a pretty standard model to me and i would never believe anyone who said the sunroof had never been opened, thats like getting a vert and never dropping the top, all gts had a t-lok rear anyways so
but yeah that much for a car with 180k on it??

i decided not to get it. i already have 2 mustang projects, and dont have money to finish them. put that money towards paying off my camry, or getting my 86 running
