Default idle with iac unplugged???

i've seen on here where people are talking about unplugging the iac then setting the idle? when i unplug my iac the idol jumps from 200 to 1500 just back and fourth back and fourth until it dies. and thats what its doin most of the time when i have the clutch in or in neutral??! i don't know what it is can anybody help me? i'm going to recheck my tps and last night i cleaned my iac very good and even put silicone on the gasket to get a better seal but did not help at all.!! any suggestions?

make sure TPS is set to 0.98-0.99, You already cleaned the IAC, make sure the MAF is clean and there isn't buildup on the sensor element. With the IAC unplugged turn your idle screw until its somewhat smooth, then plug it back in. If your idle jumps back up and idles at like 1500 or something like that then you need to mess with it until feels good.

So I want to clarify...its doing this with it plugged in and in neutral/clutch in?

If it idles right with it plugged in, then acts up when it's unplugged, then the IAC is working correctly. That's what's supposed to happen when you unplug it. If it doesn't act up when it's unplugged, then there's a problem with it or the wiring to it.

Just set the idle with it connected, if it's an automatic then set it with it in drive.

yes it does it when its in neutral of the clutch in. and SOMETIMES when i unplug it, it acts crazy but then sometimes it idles fine when i unplug the iac. i have already set my tps but i think i need to redo it because i didn't set the ground to the ground wire on the tps sensor so i wanna redo it but it didn't do it as much until i set my tps and my check engine light come on also

yes, i set it. it was around 5 volts with the car not running and key in the on position, so i set it and it don't idle up high anymore but its been surging more often so i'm just going to get a dyno tune and see what happens
