I was driving down a back road in town when out of the corner of my eye I saw a 1979-1982 Mustang coupe sitting on a garage lot. I turned around and went to look. It was a 1979, just what I've been looking for. I had a nice one years ago, been interested in another every since. I'm writing for some advice. The car looks to be pretty straight, some tiny rust spots on deck lid. It is a 5.0, 4 speed. interior is in poor condition, mainly because it's old. Nose piece looked to be in good shape except for not having any paint on it, but it's trashed. I couldn't look under the car to check for rusted floorpans. I talked with the guy at the garage, he told me it belonged to a friend of his daughter and that they wanted $900.00 for it. I was wondering if you all would give me some input on what you think i should offer or other things I need to look at. I don't even know if it runs, but it doesn't really matter because it would be a project. Please share your wisdom. I've tried to post some pics but was unable to, I'll keep trying.
+2 on 500 looks like it might need alot of sheet metal. Those painted over rust spots are hard to get rid of.

I've seen a nicer coupe sell for $50, but it was a 4 cyl. so maybe 200-300 tops. Cars pretty ate up though, better a parts car than anything.
