The gears are in the rear axle. Average price is about 150-180 for the gears or you can buy kits that come with all you need to change them for a lil more than 250 with labor it will probably be about 300-500. Benifits, MUCH BETTER acceleration. If you dont do a lot of highway driving you will be happy with the 3.73s maybe even 4.10s but if you do a lot of highway driving try 3.55s or 3.73s

the gears are in the rear axle, the benefits are: better acceleration and you'll feel more power at the wheels, the costs are: you will have to do a lot of shifting, you will sit at higher rpms at low speeds, and you wont hav a good top speed (you'll max out early), frpp(ford racing performance parts) sells good kits that u can get at any register frpp ford dealership(possibly any ford dealership, you can also order them from latemodelrestoration.com for $259.99 plus shipping and handling. but u dont wanna go more than 3.73 or 3.55 cuz 4.10 or 4.11 are a lot of gear and you will hav to do to much shifting and waste to much gas for not good enough of a difference, you'll feel the difference but its to much for street and ususally to much for track
can anyone post photo for this rear axle 3.73s to make sure what I have ti buy coz I'm going to search for it in the internet
