Default Size of hatch striker bushing

When I purchased my car last fall it came with a piece of brass pipe for a bushing and I cant imagine its real good the the latch. Im a machinist so I figured I could just make one instead of buying one. So I was wondering if anybody would be willing to measure their hatch striker bushing with a caliper or something and tell me what the outer diameter is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Oh and its a '88 mustang gt if that matters....

Or would it be safe to assume that the bushing would be the same size as the door latch bushings? I could just buy one but im not going to pay $40 for a bolt and a washer.

The bushing is the same size as the door striker bushing.
