Default Time for a new foxbody for me.

To anyone who has heard me cry about selling my 90GT don't worry I will cry no more next week I should be taking one of these foxes home with me but I want you guys to help me decide which is the best deal. All I really want out of my stang when its "done" (I know it will never be done) is a nice street car with about 300 or more engine hp and a 5sp hatchback that is in decent shape. less than $3500
Here are my choices
A. 1992 Ford Mustang LX Fox Body - $3200 OBO That green is ugly I know I will get a cheap paint job for it.
B. 1988 FORD MUSTANG 5.0 HATCH-BACK Cheap paint job for this one too.
C. FLAT BLACK 5.0 paint again
D. 89 GT Mustang I will buy new tail lights on my way home lol.

Thanks for looking.

I would not buy one earlier than 89 so you don't have to contend with "speed density" as opposed to "mass air"

Best body shape is the 89 with the ugly taillights but not any info on the motor. I would look more into the green LX hatch to be honest. The motor with the aftermarket pistons and all new gaskets can't always be trusted with a quality rebuild. You'll have to inspect them.

I would look into D. paint job looks decent, already has a cowl hood, looks like already new head lights and fog lights, all you need is new tail lights for the outside to be good. i would see how bad the interior is, but overall, that looks to be the best. "it gots power"

I think A is overpriced for having 195K miles. If you choose D you need to get another wing for the hatch, looks bad without it IMO. I would choose C because you can paint it any color you like without much work and it has a lot of nice things like the cowl hood and 5 lug conversion but definitely talk him down because of the grinding tranny.

I like the flat black one. The ext. needs the least amount of work and it sounds like the engine is in good shape.

A was my first choice but I just got off the phone with him I'm may have him down to $2800 but he says the CEL is on the tires are real bad the ac needs charged and of course the heater core is bad I don't know I liked that the engine already has the h/c/i I was going to do. I appreciate the opinions keep them coming I'm more confused now than before.

Just goes to show you need to talk to these people and see the cars. Pictures and blurbs on CL can only tell you (or not tell you) so much.

i looked at the one in fayetteville(89GT), it needs ALOT of work. he doesn't have much time to sell it either, so you might be able to offer him alot less than 2 grand(fellow soldier changing duty stations), but that babys gonna have to come home on a trailer(trans, shifter and clutch were toast) and the passenger door is dented pretty good. However the motor seemed pretty strong, and the interior wasn't in to bad of shape(red), but it used to be a maroon car, so the door jams and whatnot unpainted. I would go with the with the 92LX personally, just me though. just looking out for you though on the 89GT, it needs ALOT of TLC

Very true it sucks to cause its like anywhere from a 1.5 to 3hr drive to all of them so I kinda want to choose one than show up with cash but I got to be ready to walk away or drive lol if the car is no good.

Oh and thanks a lot airborneranger that saves me a 6hr drive round trip and me getting angry I was really thinking about that one too. I still think A is my first choice but the tires CEL and he said the speedometer doesn't work kinda takes my smile away. I like C a lot too but he hasn't emailed me back so for now its A.

Yah hard to say anything about these cars, All depends on body. Im from new hampshire and its hard as hell to find a fox without rotted shock towers. Good luck with your find.
