Default Gt40 not p heads plug gap.......044?

what is the proper plug gap for a 302 w/ hci upgrage look in the range of 260-280 rwhp. the book says .044 that seems a little big.

GT40 top end is still stock parts... stock parts = stock plug gap
Well, that's my opinion anyways.

I'd set it to .054

"Proper" spark plug gap for a specific combo (not just heads) is determined by doing some tests at the track. Would a .005" difference make a difference?.....

.044 isn't that big, I'd start with the .054 plug gap and adjust depending on the combination.

Funny thing is that all cars are very different. I would just fool around with it just like your ignition timing. Some cars like 16 degrees and some you can't move it from 10. Do you have an MSD?

ive found .045 to work the best with mine,(p heads, exploder intake, bcam)

started at .050,dropped to .040,then went to .045 and it seems to run the best there

like everyone said, all different,as a rule of thumb id say stock ignition stay around .045ish,msd or similar open it up a bit more .050-.054

just my $.02 though
