Default Dart top end kits

How do you guys feel about the top end kits that dart offers they include heads, all gaskets, intake, and bolts as opposed to useing AFR heads and an edelbrock intake? Any better preformance?

I've never seen the dart top end kit...
From what I know, Dart uses iron heads and I've never seen a Dart intake or anything. Do you have a link?

AFR's are great heads and the Eddie intake is "top of the line" also. If you can afford it then aluminum heads are the only way to go. I myself prefer the Holley Systemax II intake.

Ah, yes, he must be. He has an '83. So that would make sense.

I guess he can forget about what I was saying about those other intakes in my first response...

I like the first one with the 180cc heads. Dart makes some decent heads. But again, they are iron heads. Nothing wrong with iron, but if you're going to spend that much I would check out your aluminum options with a better intake.

Dart heads compare very well to the AFR, you just don't hear about them due to everyone being AFR-mad and GT40-mad. Dart made their mark in the Chevy arena and they make serious power, so they'll make serious Ford power too.

Dart to AFR: nearly equal
Dart to GT40 anything: like a major league pitcher against a 10th grade kid. No competition.

Intake wise, they also compare very well to the Edelbrock intake. Again, people gravitate right to Edelbrock because of the name. Dart makes impressive intakes, so if you were to go with Dart, be confident they'll perform.

By the way, Dart makes aluminum heads that will fit the bill too.

the second kit IS aluminum heads. the 170 cc 1.94 setup would be perfect. dart stuff is TOP SHELF, very nice.

What?! I thought my GT40P heads were going to give me like 400HP!! That's BS!

Yeah, in the Ford world, Dart isn't a name you here often unless you're talking about engine blocks. But I have heard their iron heads flow good. I didn't know they were comparable to AFR's though.
And I never even knew Dart made intakes period!

I guess you learn something new every day.

Neither did I until I saw this...I was going to go with a edelbrock preformer RPM intake and AFR 185's with 2.02 intakes but this set up seems like it might be worth it if its all in a kit. I'm planning for a 347 stroker motor in the future once I get out of college and get some money and would like to use a dart SHP block. I just never knew they made top end stuff
