Default Oil Filter/Pressure Question

I've been kinda of worried about my oil pressure lately. It's been running low according to the autometer electric gauge, when it's cold sometimes I'll see 25 psi at idle it's about 12 psi. I pulled the oil filter after 1,000 miles of the oil change and saw some metal shavings and some silicon:

So I figured why don't I try some thicker oil, today I switch to 20-50 but it didn't make a difference. Not only that but open up the new filter that it had no sign of metal shaving:

I really confused now. What do ya think?

I would get a different gauge and if it's still low, i would think oil pump is bad since you don't see any shavings in the oil filter.

That sounds like the engines getting tired to me. Hope I'm wrong. As long as the pressure doesn't go below 8-10 psi at warm idle, it's still ok.

I thought the same. It sounds like she is staring to wind down a bit. How many miles does the engine have? I also see you used a Napa filter the second time.

It has 133,000 according to the odometer. The block is original never been cut, it's an 87 like the car.By the way, the first filter I cut with a cutting wheel connected to a die grinder. The second one I drilled a whole and used some scissors used to cut sheet metal (forgot the name). I'll connect a mechanical gauge to it tomorrow.

Maybe the pickup tube is partially clogged?

Update: drove the car today i guess the 20-50 oil did help with the oil pressure now it read 35 psi cold and 25 psi hot thats at 2000 rpms. i still need to get of hold of a mechanical gauge.
