so my question for you guys is i have a completely stock exhaust and im looking to get new mid pipes and thats it! but the question is if i just replace the stock mid pypes with these will it fit and work?
i just really want the sound of my baby to have a real muscle car sound! so scary it will make the ricers want to sh** their pants! will just putting these midpipes on my car and keeping the rest of the exhaust stock make a noticeable sound change in my ride? and how much do you think im looking at paying for installation?
I would honestly go for an H pipe unless you can afford a Basasni X pipe. H's sounded great on my 95GT, the X's sounded like crap except for the Bassani that i later put on. I did have headers and flowmaster catback too. It will still change the exhaust note. It's not hard to install yourself but i'm guessing around 100-200 bucks for the install if you take it somewhere.

Yes, you can go with those pipes and it'll make a difference in both power and sound even if you have stock mufflers. You have expensive taste too, that 409 stainless what you're paying for but it'll last longer then 304 or aluminized.
I'd suggest wrestling with it yourself, it'd save you the cost of labor. The thing is no exhaust shop is supposed to ever, for any reason, remove a functioning catalytic converter. Most won't touch installing an off road exhaust for fear of having their license pulled and getting fined.
If you did find one willing to do it, it'd probably have to be after hours. Cost wise, it'd be 1-1.5 hours of labor.

The old H vs X debate comes down to your preference in sound. He said his sounded like crap, I might've liked how it sounded, so it's all subjective. You could check out the exhaust clip thread and see what sounds the best to you.

You might want to look for a pair of used mufflers to also get you toward that desired sound. With the removal of the cats and different mufflers you will be a real muscle car then vrrrooom vrrooom.
That's what i had on my 95 and it sounded pretty good. But like mentioned, every one has a different taste on exahaust sound. To me, if it's raspy...i ditch it and get something else.

If your gona get a midpipe i would suggest getting mufflers too. you can prob get a package deal depending on what manufacturer you go with. I always suggest magnaflow x-pipe for a 4.6 and a mac h-pipe for a 5.0. both off-road of course. but thats me

Here in Okie-homa, most exhaust shops will recomend taking out the cat's for performance!
All you need to change the mid-pipes is a basic set of sockets, ratchets, and wrenches. It's supper easy. Just have a buddy help you cuz those mid pipes aren't all that light.

To get the BEST sound, you can't beat long tube headers, with the deep rumble of an off-road H-pipe, and some good muff's.
Long tubes will make a world of difference in the sound. The bigger the pipes the deeper the tone should be also. So stepping up to 2.5" will make a difference in itself.
Again, I suggest doing the swap yourself.

Also, if you have the stock muff's GET RID OF THEM!
I love my Flowmaster 40 series. They are pretty quiet with a deep rumble at idle, but when you go wide open, they will let everyone know I'm coming!

For good sound use an x-pipe with electric cutouts, here are some i was thinking of using. Problem with these are that they are universal and not fox body bolt-on. Flowtech X-Pipes with Cutouts - JEGS
Well considering I am on a budget could I just get flowmaster 40 mufflers? Will that change the sound at all? Add a deep rumble or will it sound the same
