Default What should I know about installing a TPS sensor?

Installing a new TPS sensor & wondering if its just a bolt on part?

Your going to need a volt-meter, and with your car not running, but key on the on position, poke the positive lead of your meter through the top of the tps wire connector so it contacts the green wire. Then ground the negative lead of your meter to the car. Then with the TPS installed on the throttle body, move it back and forth till the voltmeter reads about .98 volts, tighten down the screws, and its all set.

So do I leave the harness pluged in or is the harness unpluged then u just test it mounted & unpluged? If the harness was pluged in i'm not sure how to test it?

What you do is pierce the black and green wires with a pin and then you get your reading. Key on engine off with the connector attached.

After you get your reading, you cover the small hole you made in the wiring sheath with some dielectric grease so the wire won't corrode.
