Default need help to identify a 302 block with Forge pistons

Im looking to get a shortblock with forge pistons, I was told 91 has the forge piston... so, what are the years of mustang that equipted with forge pistons?

one more thing...

I just sent my distributor for rebuild to accel, coz I noticed a play on the shaft and a wear on the gear... would this mean that I will also need to change my CAM?

thx

87-92 had forged pistons from the factory. 1993 did not..1986 had flat tops with no valve reliefs(stay away)..1985 was forged also, not sure on the 1984-earlier

1985, and 1987-1992 had forged pistons. 1986, you don't want like he said. I think 1984 and earlier had cast pistons.

The one bad thing about Ford is they never do anything twice. Even though we all have a 302, they're all different in some way or another.

ok so, what's the real disadvantage of having a flot top piston, or not having a vavle relief?
