Default alternator wiring help

well my alt is going out and i got a new alternator from my friends house that was originally for a 1991 drag car we were building. well i think its prolly alot better then the one i have so i wanna try to hook it up. BUT the connections are simmilar to the ones like the 94-95 mustang v6 has the one red wire hookup with the 2 lil plugins. how can i make this work on my car? they might have been on the 5.0 to but mine dont look like it so i would like to see if i can fit it.

ok well i did the 3g swap and the car works good the lights dont dim at idle. i read the instructions on here for that and i was a lil confused. i took the two black and orange wires and put rings to connect them to the red connector on the back and the other plug with the two rounded edges i pluged into the one on the 3g. as for the white wire with the black stripe i do not know where that goes. when i was taking the tape off the wires the white one just came out and is not connected right now. what is the importance of that? as i said i drove it and it works i just wanna make sure its all right and i got things where they need to go.
