You can just use engine paint, its like $4 a can. No biggie. But as an FYI... Reg does powder coating.

He also does polishing and you can polish the stock valve covers because they are alluminum.

Which GT40 intake do you have??

I painted my tubular intake myself. I used high temp. engine enamel. Painted my intake red and then painted the "fins" black. Then I covered it in clear engine enamel. Still looks as good as the day I painted it!

Here's the thread of the process.

The cast/silver would go well with any color, or you can color coordinate like the Feen did. I've seen that intake in person and it looks better than the pictures.

Reggie's forum name is RLG34750. Send him a PM and he'll get back to you as soon as he see's it.

For some reason I can't picture the intake silver with red "fins"... LoL, it's Friday, my brain is already on the weekend.

I'm sure it would look good though.

Are you going to powder coat it or paint it????
If you're going to paint it, then I don't know if it'd be a good idea to "bake" it.

I have baked a few items after I painted them in a low heat oven. Actually it was the oven in my house and I set it on the lowest setting for like 20 minutes I think and then another cycle of 20 minutes.

For baking, you want 200-250 for around 20 minutes.

Ha! I never thought about that. I had to let mine dry for a week before I put the clear coat on. I tried getting impatient and sprayed a tiny bit of clear on it the day after i painted it. It ended up wrinkling and cracking in two spots. So I had to sand that area down and repaint & clear those spots.
My impatience has got the best of me a few times, but I learned my lessons.
