Im wondering why my upper GT40 explorer intake only has two button head torx to hold down the plate that covers the 2 bolts that go to the lower intake...My stock 93 has 4 button head torx ..Nothing looks broke...I also was told that the stock 5.0 plate will fit this right?...here are some pictures...

It's just a plate that covers those bolts, it doesn't take any stress so 2 screws holding it on should be just fine...

It's just a plate that covers those bolts, it doesn't take any stress so 2 screws holding it on should be just fine...
yes I know that but why does the stock intake have 4 screws holding it and tis only has 2 and if i use my stock plate it will have 2 open screw holes to me that would look stupid no?...

Ok I see what you're saying now. The only thing I can tell you is that you'll just have to deal with the two open holes. Or you can glue a screw in the two empty holes...

Yeah i can do that but did ther explorer intake only have two screws holding it down?...weird....

Mine was the same way. I didnt even notice it the first few days. The reason is plain and obvious. Cost. They save on 2 screws on every Explorer ever made. Its purely cosmetic so it doesnt matter at all. I'm just gonna glue 2 screw heads on mine also. If you really wanted you can just drill and tap 2 holes on the intake, I may do that also "just cuz"
