5.0 HO & 5.0 Lincoln Are they the same

I was told by some that the 5.0 HO & 5.0 Lincoln are basically the same enigine except for the cam shaft. Then there are others that tell me that they are two different animals. I have a 1988 Lincoln 5.0 that I want to put into a 67 Mustang running a carb (autolite 4100 1.08) and pertonix ignition. Should I switch the cam to the the 5.0 HO and change the firing order, or would this be a waste of time.

If it's from a Mark VII, then it's the same H.O. engine as in a Mustang.

Nope, it is out of a Town Car...What are the options with it?

Depending on the year it might be roller cam compatible which makes it the block to have.

Since it's from a Town Car it has the E6 heads which are nothing you want in your high performance Mustang. Same heads as the 1986 GT 5.0.

Thanks for the disappointing news. Awe, it is going in a convertible, so it doesn't need to be to fast!
