You can also check our classifieds, I know there's engine kits in there.

Whatever kit you go with, make sure it's balanced before you buy. Not all kits are, and it'd be an additional cost that you would have to get a machine shop to do for you. Getting a kit already balanced will avoid this hassle.

Just curious...what exactly do you mean by "balanced"? (I'm about to do the same thing as turtle22.)

Either get a rebuild kit from Summit, or buy a shortblock from 5.0resto.com

Balanced means the assembly is balanced to itself.

Pistons: all 8 are within 1-2 grams of each other based from the lightest one. Usually they're matched exactly.
Rods: all 8 have the big ends and small ends weighed and matched based from the lightest one
Crank: counterweights are attached and spun on a machine that pinpoints where metal needs to be added or subtracted.

The balancing assembly assures a longer life due to it not beating the bearings as much, it assures smoother operation and improves output slightly. Factory 5.0 engines weren't balanced, and you can see by watching the engine run if it's balanced or not. Slight movement from the engine is normal but it shouldn't be shaking the car.

An engine rebuild kit isn't balanced but a rotating assembly is. I don't mean to split hairs but they are two different things.
