Default need advice?? help.. wanting a stroker kit for my 5.0

What are the parts i need or machine work i would need to do for a 331 stroker kit or 347 stroker kit? how much would these parts cost me? What would be the best setup? Im looking to get at least 350 hp. it is my daily driver also.

I have an 86 5.0, everything is completely stock on the car right now, the only thing i have is msd cap, wires and bbk cai, no maf yet though.

Ive read about the basic bolt ons, and that they will not give me nearly enough hp i want. so i read about stroker kits and wanted to see what you guys thought would be best and about how much it would cost me for the whole thing.

i dont really know what all the size and ratios everyone else throws out there, im new to this whole thing.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...er-budget.html that thread pretty much gives you everything you will need to rebuild your engine, some of those things you might be able to leave out or go different on but thats pretty much it.... making a 347 stroker isn't that cheep, its not just putting a stroker kit in your car, what kills you is the parts that is a must to make the stroker work well... goood luck and welcome to the site

I built a scat 331 stroker for my 93 cobra. Parts are roughly $1400 on up depending on if you are going forged. As for all the gaskets, cam, lifters, oil pump, can be anywhere from $1000 on up. As for the machine work roughly $700 if your going to have the heads worked over while your doing the motor nuild. Acheving 350hp on a stroker isnt a hard thing to do but you will need to let the motor breathe so a good set of cylinder heads and exhaust will be mandatory. Theres another $2000. As you can see building a motor becomes expensive real fast. Stick with the basic bolt ons for now otherwise your wallet will become empty fast!

The only thing about bolt ons is that you only get like 5hp per part. how else can i acheive a 350+ hp daily driver. street race car. lol ?

supercharger and that comes with pretty much the amoount of money as a stroker by the time your finished, stick with the bolt ons or change heads and cam, intake.. thats not cheep and you wont be getting 350hp from it, set of 410's in the rear end will make alot of bottom end if thats what your looking for, try to get the basics before you attack a stroker.
