Ive noticed here lately some odd things about my ol' 88. The quarter windows seem to be bulging out?! The taillights dont quite fit where there supposed to...and the hatch seems to be much smaller (width wise) then the body. It might be kinda hard to see in the pics cause they were takin with my blackberry but maybe it was hit in the rear end and thats causing all of this?

I really hope that the hatch is messed up and the windows are supposed to be like that but i dont remember my '92 lx hatch being like that.

Any time you purchase a vehicle, never go to look at it in the rain. Always check it on a sunny day, so you can get a clear view down the sides to check for waves. And if the vehicle is white more so, people who do a repaint in white 90% of the time they have something to hide. That's why it is very important, to check the body lines and gaps. That car definetly took a hard hit. If I were you, I would get it on a lift and check the sub-frame. Good luck with it, Mike. SCT Tuner.

its probably had some light rearend damage,judging from the tail lights,i work i the autobody business,get it on a lift and look up around the inside rear bumper wrap and the bump shocks,either way its not perfect......but most cars arent,its all how bad it bothers you.

i checked out under the car when i had it up on jacks having the trans rebuilt...the frame itself and the bumper look fine but i did notice the trans support and where the passenger seat sits is all banged up. Also both rear rims are bent. I know its a old car and its gonna have problems. I cant really complain to much cause i bought it for 1000, but the fact that everything is just a bit off bothers me alot.

Is there a way that i can fix this? or am i stuck with a 'just a little off' car.?. (that question is for you bodywork people)

haha. ive got alot of time in it now. rebuilt trans with a shift kit, new water pump, radiator, hoses, cold air, gas tank, fuel pump, tires, distributor, heads, starter, flow's exhaust...etc etc. I guess its not alot but ive got alot of time in the car itself. so i def wouldnt sell it for 1000..lol

i just feel that im putting so much into a 'off' car and im wondering if i should just find another one and let this car be the way it is.

well dont give up...................im the worst about switching cars im 41 years old and have owned 12 mustangs of sorts through the years,iv come to realize,you can think yours is junk because you know the car.......and you sell or trade and you get something new ( to you) and start all over working and spending only to wish youd kept the one you had.....years later.
