Default Ported 289 or 302 heads?

Hey guys, im looking at porting some heads, I have some E7's Off a fuely and some old 289 heads. Ive been told that 289 heads are crazy once ported but also that the E7's are about the same when ported. Im just looking for some input, Thanks.

Unless you are going to do the porting i wouldn't waste my money on those heads.

+1

The e7's aren't worth diddily. Go explorer/cobra heads Their cheap and do rather decently.

You'd better check on what each of the 289/302 heads really have as a difference, they did vary. Looking for power, find some inexpensive aftermarket heads.

The 289 heads aren't all that. You'd be wasting your time, effort, and money getting them worked over.

LMAO OMG throw those in the trash and definetly dont use whoever told you the 289 or e7 heads are CRAZY when ported. They obviously have no idea what they are talkin about.

if those can be had for under $500 shipped thats a killer deal.
throw some good springs on there and go. the only thing is there looks like something is up w/ the surface, like they were cleaned w/ very rough sand paper so they may need to be surfaced

x2. I did my own port job, otherwise it wouldn't have been worth it.
Those Edelbrock heads in ebay look very appealing but the only problem for me is the shipping cost of $8 per lb to the UAE.
