Default do i have a 289 or 302?

im tring to figure out what motor i have? is there a web site(this one maybe?) what i can run the engine #'s. is there some thing that i can look at (on the motor)that ford did differantly between the two. it was origanlly out of a1968 ford van. any advice would be helpful

If it is out of a 68 van

most likely its 302 non roller motor.......

I agree; most likely a 302. Very similiar engine, both having 4" bores. The 302 has a 3 " stroke and the 289 has a 2.87 " stroke ( could be wrong on the 289 stroke). If you take a valve cover off I believe it will have a 289 or 302 stamp.

Most likely a 302. If I'm not mistaken, the 289 came in these.
