ok well i was driving home this morning and as usuall i have the lights on radio on and stuff.
so as i come to a stop my car dims down and dies and then starts it self again and keeps going. and after that i turned my fog lights off and radio so it would make it home ok so i go to roll down my window and when i do the car lights dim and the car just sputters for the time im hitting it.
completly lost i think ok it my battery so i turn car off and then start it right up with no prob. so i think alternator? then i put a volt meter on it and it reads 12.5 with car off and 13.5 with lights radio and car on at idle.. whats going on? im just thinking of selling this and getting a car i been wanting for a long time.
but i dont think i should say cause u all will prolly hate me.

it's ok. say it. but i am going on the record as saying that your woes are a bit of Karma. i too used to refer to Mustangs as Rustangs or bondo buggies. (after all, what car is pictured on the can?) when i owned my 73 Trans Am.
but since then i have found the light, i own a fleet of Mustangs. but honestly, any 20+ year old car is going to have issues. (sounds like yours is probably a faulty ground or a bit of chafing wire in your door harness) but you really should be driving a car you have always wanted to. it makes fixing these kind of issues tolerable. no matter what the make, model, number of doors, country of origin, driven wheels, etc.
ok well i have all the love for mustangs and always will.
i would love to fix my car nice but i been always wanting a 90-93 integra, not something to rice out but to make fast and i can think of 3 mods i can do that will make it faster then my stang now.lol
but ya i would love to fix it if i can before the mustang show on sunday.

Why would you want to do that. I know you love the hondas but think about it. You would be stepping into another almost 20 year old car.. Why not be AMERICAN. I got a really good friend (11 years) that thinks the same way.. Hes all about 500hp honda's and me and him but heads on this all the time. I dont get it. The pony is essentially worth more and basically always will be and as a bonus, you start out with bigger displacement. The potential is there, and it doesnt take much of anything to fix your pony. Plus you CANT get 100+hp on a honda for $700 bucks, but you can slap on a 100-150 shot nitrous kit onto your pony for that much and then you are pushing 325-375 on a STOCK motor and there AINT that much on the daily driven road everyday thats going to be able to touch it.. Why make another loud obnoxious honda go by screaming and not moving. If you do anything to any forein car its rice There really isnt anything to it. If I was you and you really want the honda integra, buy it as a DD.

I would rather here you say, you are doing it for economical reasons then you are getting rid of your pony for an integra to smoke stangs. Not saying it isnt possible to do that cause I have seen my share of vids but...

So true... Let me tell you, I was always tought to respect your elders, Reg. Eagle. 89coupe, Masshole. You show up to a car show where theres Model T's, 60's novas, galaxys, mustangs, 70s trans ams and buicks, even the 80's with the 305 in the SS monte carlos are nice. (Im not a chevy guy) but if you go to a show with a early 90's integra and try to talk to these guys, they aint goin to give you the time of day man. Im telling you... Even when you start talking to these guys about American hot rodding and what its all about and you say well, I have a 90's Honda whatever with adjustable cam gears, v-tech and whatever else. Your going to here just this "oh, cool"....
And for the record, I am not saying Honda doesnt make good cars but nows the day to let it fly.

Im 17 years old and i've been working on bringing my mustang back from the grave for 3 years now, and I'll admit some days it seems like more things are wrong than the cars worth. But something about blasting by a "suped up honda" (tin can muffler, and maybe a cold air intake) on the highway, and the roar of your X-pipe probably made the poor kid cry, makes me love my mustang more and more each time. I wouldent trade it for the world.

The "newest" FOX body is already coming up on being 20 years old. Yours is 23 years old! Get a car that old, and it's going to experience some problems.
Makes no sense to ME why you would want to trade and older Mustang for an older Honda???? Maybe if you wanted to trade for a newer Honda it would make a little more sense. But still...
Keep the Stang, fix the problems, and forget the Honda!

Your alright man .... Check your grounds.. I would pull the battery out and alternator because they take nothing to pull out and take them to a local auto parts store. I know you said you checked the voltage on the alt but something isnt right and its got to be 1 of those 3 things.

ya ok well i do have a 3g alternator i could try to wire up if i really needed to but if you all remember i had a lil trouble last time. and the alternator now has all the wires hooked up except the stator wire but its been off for the past few days. ill go check to make sure its all there and if my alt might be supplying very little juice for the car.

my first car is my 89 gt convertible... it was abused bad and has alot of issues, but i have faith in her and im gonna get her fixed... and with the many problems the morons before me caused, that it has... being 18 and having a minimum wage job... it isnt going to be easy to fix xD but anyway nothings better than a stang man... ricers are bad rofl stay with the american muscles xD
