Hey everyone-
looking at a BBK cold air for my 1991 GT. Is there any benefit to the fenderwell kit over the underhood kit? I'm assuming the difference in air temperature is the main selling point, but is it enough to justify a $50.00 price difference between the two?
Thanks
An under hood open filter kit is worse than stock. The stock filter gets its air from in the fender even.
It is definately worth the extra $$

The fender bbk is designed to take air out of the fender air which is usually cooler air. The underhood design draws air from under the hood which is engine temp. Cooler air is more dense. Go with the fender kit just make sure you have the fender guard still installed.

true, but they aren't designed for just having a filter on the end of them sucking hot air from the engine compartment either. most units are setup to use a factory air box style intake. the velocity meters that come with the filter on the end are designed to be outside the engine compartment completely.
