Question 1993 Mustang LX Battery Gauge Lowered at Red Light?

Hi Guys!

Hoping you can give me a good idea what's up...

Today I took the car to work after it was sitting for about a week under it's cover... when I got out of work, it was chilly so I threw on the heat and along with the heat, I had the lights on and the radio... While at a red light coming out of the bank I looked down at the battery gauge and it was pretty low after being 3/4 of the way to the top.... when I turned the heat off and started moving, it raised back up again.

Is this a battery issue or alternator issue or something else? Did I have too many things on in the car?

Thanks in advance for the help!

That's pretty normal, especially if you had the blower on as it pulls a LOT of amps. That's why many of us upgrade the alternators as the stocker is pretty weak.

Thats normal. The lights in my 93 do the same thing with a new battery. The alternators on the foxes were under rated for the car.
