Default Where can I get a good roll cage

looking to pick up a weld in 8 point roll cage. i've seen some priced close to $400 and others that are $150... is there a difference?

i suppose i'm not "too" worried about fitment.. welding and fabrication is my trade by day so thats not a big deal at all, just as long as i'm not filling 1/4 inch gaps all day long installing a cage!

whats a good company to buy one from?

Weld in is what you want, I just found a place to make a custom fit one as our cars can vary

The difference in cost is most likely the material it uses. Mild steel will cost less than top of the line metal, and you don't want to scrimp on cost when it comes to a cage because your coconut is worth paying the $400.

Since welding and fabrication is your trade, you could make your own if you have a pipe bender and angle finders.

here is a site for cages, I bought mine from them, just never got it installed yet but it is great stuff with the pipes pre-bent and angle cutted/jig notched on the ends for a clean weld. Bars also go to the far end of the trunk, not the wheel well

IIRC,chromemoly has to be TIG welded, according to NHRA rules

S&W Racecars makes nice stuff too,as "Dcymustang" pointed out
they sell Mild or Chromemoly versions..i dont recall exactly, but the guy from S&W told me the chromemoly was roughly 30-40lbs lighter than the Mild steel version(i was going to buy one for the vert from S&W before i decided to get a new car)
great customer(and non customer) service

i also know a guy locally that has a low 8 second dragster built by them,so they DO know what they're doing lol
