Cool 1984 mustang gt fuel filter?

does anyone know where is the fuel filter located on a 1984 mustang gt 5.0L v-8 carburated?

check behind the passenger rear tire that is where i was on my 83 gt

Hmmm, shouldn't be too hard to find. The F.I. cars have it back by the tank. Just trace from there forward. Every car I have ever worked on has it either by the tank, halfway down the frame(not likely on this uni body) or next to the carb. That should clear things up....it's somewhere between the front and back (sorry if that's not much help).

If it's a stock/factory setup that noone has monkeyed with before now.........follow the fuel line from the fuel pump (below the A/C compressor or the PS pump if the car doesn't have A/C) to the carb. Remove the fuel line from carb with a line wrench and then remove the fitting from the carb that the fuel line threaded into. The filter is inside, along with a couple of gaskets and a spring.

Only the fuel-injected cars had a filter at the rear of the car originally.
