Default 1990 Mustang GT, smog pump removal.

what needs do be done in order for the smog pump on my 1990 gt to be removed. do i just have to take all the hoses and lines running from the smog pump off and replace the pump with a delete kit or is there more to it?

Gonna have to remove the pump and plug the heads or crimp off the metal lines. Should be able to just get a shorter belt

What he said or you can get a delete kit to run the stock belt. They are $50 - $75. Pretty billet aluminum if thats your thing.

Word. I just did this. Don't worry about getting a delete kit. Just get a shorter belt.

I ended up leaving the pipe on the back of the heads and then plugging off the tubes with a bolt.

My buddy deleted his smog pump an everything. He bought a delete pulley and it was bad, it would wobble and also squeak. He bought a shorter belt and a A/C delete. I deleted my smog pump on my 91Gt and just got a shorter belt.

This may help you. Sorry the pic is kinda small. Looks like it would be an 84.5" belt.
