looking for a Cobra intake manifold for a 1994 Mustang GT 5.0
Hi, i have a 94 GT 5.0. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where i could buy a cobra intake for it at? I want to put a top mount supercharger on it(i just like the way it looks). I have never seen it done, i have just heard of it being done. So i don't know if it can even be done on a 94. Can someone let me know if can be done? Thanks

Check out ebay. You can find Cobra intakes on there all day. Just do a search for "GT40 Cobra intake".

Top mount supercharger? You mean a Kenne Bell and yup, it can be done. They use two different intakes to install it on, the stock style lower and a GT40 lower. You do have options.
Find a stock 1987-1993 lower and have it ported.
Find a Holley Systemax I (not the II) lower, it's a match for the stock lower but outflows it.
Find a GT40 lower, this means you could get an used Cobra, GT40, or Explorer lower intake. Or you could go to a supplier of Ford Racing parts and order a new GT40 lower, they should be around $200. Ask for part number M-9461-A50.
When you order the Kenne Bell, they'll need to know which intake you're using.
You can get a Kenne Bell on there but you will need a new hood with enough clearance, like a 4 inch cowl. The supercharger is plenty tall and the low stock hood won't accommodate it.

Ok, thanks for the info. I will be looking into all the options you gave me. I was wondering if there is a difference in the amount of hp gain you would get from doing a top mount instead of a vortech or whatever other brands that are out there?

Looking at his profile pic, it seems like he already has a cowl hood. Can't tell how much of a cowl though...

The difference is with the roots/screw supercharger, you're at full boost at 2000 rpm rather than at redline, giving you that torque we all thirst for. The boost rate for a centrifugal is linear to the engine rpm, as the rpms rise so does the boost. The power numbers are about the same but in different rpm ranges. For a street car, the roots/screw unit would be my choice. For racing, I'd go with a centrifugal.

Plus a Kenne Bell just sounds WAY cool!

If i was to buy a cobra lower intake, will i be able to use my stock intake(top)with it or will have to buy the whole cobra intake? It would only be for a short amount of time so i can save up for the kenny bell
yeah i already have a 4" cowl hood, but i think i am going to change it out for the stock cobra hood.. I think i am set going with the cobra intake and the kenny bell. Now its just saving up the $3100 for it lol

Yes, you'll have to get either one of the GT40 intakes. Either the Cobra, Explorer, or tubular intake. All three of those use the same lower intake. But your stock HO intake will not work on the GT40 lower.
