I have the vin of a 93 cobra that a friend of mine is looking at getting. Its on ebay so he needs to make sure its legit before buying. I know you can tell a cobra by the vin but where do I cross reference the vin? Here it is 1FACP42D6PF139692 in case anyone knows offhand. Thanks.

There are only two charcaters you need to know of a VIN to confirm if it's a '93 Cobra: the model year code (10th character) and the engine code (8th character).

P = 1993
D = 5.0L Cobra EFI 235 HP

If the engine code is anything other than D, it's not a Cobra. That goes for '93, '94, and '95 ('95 Cobra R's VIN's engine code is C).

Just Wondering,when I Submitted My Vin Number In The Decoder No Where Does It Say T-top. Anyone With A T-top Mustang Notice This As Well. My Title Doesn't Have Anything On It Either . I Know Cars And Concepts Did The Vert And T-top Conversions ,just Curious

T-roof is not in the VIN, or on registrations, titles, etc.
