I've been getting 5.0 Mustang and Super Ford for over 4 years now. They seem to fall into a pattern with one issue being for a more modular crowd then the next issue will be for the 5.0 guys. Kinda weird. Then they mix it up like the last issue. I like that notch thought. Stock T-5 in it! Might be some G-Force upgrade on that tranny.

Is Super Ford still around? What are they doing now? Got a link?
I haven't seen 'em for years!
I'm selling a bunch of back issues of theirs on e-bay.
My closets are full of'em from when I was building my '68. I thought I'd keep 'em for my next '68 fastback -but the prices now are horrendous.

I gave up on 5.0 and returned to MM&FF, which I deem a much better magazine overall, at least for the overall Mustang and Ford enthusiast. Ironically, you'd think it'd be the other way around.
A few years back, a writer for 5.0 asked me about perhaps shooting my car and doing a complete writeup on it. I said okay and awaited his phonecall. He never called back and when I saw him again(at a race) and told him it had been 6 months without a call, and that I'd act like our talk never happened. He apoligized, but said he'd forgotten all about it. Yeah, right. I know the real story, but wish he'd called and spoken to me about the issue. Anyway, I kinda lost respect for the whole magazine. Back then, I worked with a very well respected Mustang specialty shop and he was there on one of many visits 5.0 gave us. That was my "in" to begin with.
I’m dealing with the same issue with MM&FF. I like reading the new info on the 4.6 and the Lightning and the cobra, BUT I don’t own any of these, I OWN A 5.0. I an sick of seeing tech articles on them! I want more 5.0 tech articles and project cars! I am a ford fan and like to be informed on the new technology but its to the point I don’t even read the tech articles if its not a 5.0 and with the lack of coverage I keep asking myself why do I buy this? I find my self browsing the 5.0 and super fords and Mustang Enthusiast and some other mags and buying them for their 5.0 articles. I am seriously thinking of letting my “prescription” to MM&FF go and just browse them in the store and occasionally buy the issue. What also really gets me is I see that sometimes MM&FF will have different covers that don’t feature the girls on the cover because in certainty regions they want to be “politically correct“ or another gripe of mine, if you subscribe you don’t get the special bikini calendar but if you buy from the stand its included.. I do believe MM&FF is the best written mag but if I’m not reading half the articles who cares?

So , let me get this straight…..your Honda has 1.6 liters, whereas my bottle of Mountain Dew has 2?
Change…..it’s what is left after taxes.
- Shaken....Not Stirred 2003 Mach I Auto Torch Red - Sold
-1988 Ford Mustang GT Convertible, 331 Trick Flow Stroker with a Tremec 3550....oh yea and a 1.6 liter V-TECH motor to work the convertible top.
- 1966 Inline 6……..the pile of parts car!
The following is a copy of the letter I just sent to the magazine. If others follow suit, maybe they'll listen!
Please consider keeping the ratio of 5.0 and 4.6 cars equal. After all, when the cover says 5.0, you'd expect to see more coverage of that topic. Lately I think you should change your name to "4.6".
I agree with you guys totally. I really enjoyed reading all the tech articles back in 95 when I bought my Stang. It seems that in 96 more attention was being focused on the Mod Motors and their performance. Maybe someone got the message because the May issue has a lot of technical information on 5.0's. Some examples:
King of the Street
Jim Matzke's 630HP 95 Stang
David Parson's 87 Notchback in the 10's(No Power Adders)
The best issue I have seen in a while. Let me know what you guys think

I thought I would give this thread a bump since we were mentioned in 5.0 mag this month because of this thread
Oh yeah , and the new issue sucks ass as well . Aside from our mention , it wasnt worth buying . I wish I wasnt so addicted to this pony car thing . I cant help but to buy a magazine with a mustang on the cover

Anybody notice Rob's letter to "5.0 Mustangs & Super Fords" in the July '04 issue?
They (5.0&SF) saw this post and responded. They say they do try to do an equal mix (I hope they are being truthful).
I've subscribed for many years (I subscribed to 5.0 mag and Super Fords before the merger). My main beef is that they do too many drag racing articles. I'd prefer more road racing, tech (including how-to's), show cars, etc).
Anybody subscribe to "Mustang Enthusiast"? It is a new mag. I like it so far. I also sub to MMFF, Autoweek (for racing coverage), and Mustangs & Ford (vintage stuff).
Car Craft? I subscribed for a couple of years. I got sick of the constant Chevy coverage. They should call it Chevy Craft. Hot Rod had some great coverage on the new '04 Mustang and the Ford GT motor, but they also like to do ricer, GM, and Mopar stuff .
