Hey everyone who reads this. Thanks to anyone who replies with information I can use.
I have a 92 GT Hatchback. I've got all the bumpers off, fenders, interior gone and so on. This is my first mustang and my first restoration doing work myself so all help is useful!
When I took off the passenger fender there was 2 canisters. Are these part of the smog crap and can I remove them and all existing hoses and vacuum lines? Also can I just take the whole smog pump out under my alternator? I'd rather not put a delete pulley on. Much rather delete it all out is that okay to do just remove it all?
Second can somebody tell me what vacuum lines, hoses, pumps, fittings or whatever else doesn't need to be on the car. I don't have emissions testing in Canada so it's all not needed.
I want to clean the engine bay out real bad. These 5.0L motors have vacuum lines and stuff running everywhere. Plus I've taken out my A/C as well so can I removed every vacuum line related to that without having any heater core or vacuum issues?
One of the vacuum reservoirs (the big ball reservoir) on the passenger side is for your HVAC (heater, defroster, ventilation and A/C.
The half looking soup can reservoir above the tire is for emissions only. If you eliminate your emission components you can eliminate that the reservoir.
The vacuum line you now have go to the Brake Booster, Cruise Control, HVAC and come from under intake manifold which is your main source for all your vacuum. Instead of eliminating your vacuum lines why not hide them?

Thanks for the link that's awesome! As for the emissions I just want to clarify...if I take my smog pump right out and the lines running to it, I can remove the soup dish and whatever is attached to that with no issues?

Yes you can remove the smog pump, vacuum lines and components along with reservoir. Make sure you cap off the air injection tube on the back of the heads and the one vacuum line that runs from under the upper intake to the rubber emission block also.

Okay sounds pretty straight forward.
The whole wire hiding 101 looks like a hug job. I don't even know if I wanna strt that but I know it will make it look so good. I should be able to follow the 43 page guide. Electrical and wiring is not my specialty but we will see what happens.
My guess is it might take you 2 maybe 3 hrs on the passenger side, and possibly 5 to 7 hrs on the drivers side.
You don't have to cut or lengthen any wires, just make sure you mark any wires and or connectors ( pictures are a great help also) what they were connect to before you removed them.

Hey ALMOST STK, I appreciate all your help so far, it's really appriciated. I was wondering if you could help me out again. I posted some pictures and I am hoping to find the answers as to what everything is. Hopefully I don't look like too much of an idiot but I'd much rather learn then not ask!
The last two pictures I posted are questions regarding our previous conversation about the SMOG pump. The last pic is bolted to the back of the cyclinder heads I believe. If I unbolt that rusty thing will I have a vacuum leak or any sort of leak where they bolt in??
And the second last pic is what I think you are talking about "half pie shape" The piece I can remove along with all the vacuum lines?
ALMOST STK.....I just looked at the pictures...number 46 is a jaw droping picture. WOW man that is absolutely spectacular! That is what I am hoping to achieve at the end of my restoration. Beautiful!

The tube that goes to the back of the head (rusty thing you have pictured ) is the air injection tube and it can be removed. I don't believe you'll not have a vacuum leak if you remove the bolt but you will have a vacuum leak where the hole in the back of the head let the air into the tube.
Yes the 2nd to the last pic is the reservoir canister for vacuum to your emission components and you can remove it along with all the lines.

Thanks for the complement.
Alright sounds good. Do you know what all the other things are that I have pictured?
(1) ..Wiper Motor, or are you asking about a vacuum line?
+.....Coil and starter solenoid.
(2) Horns and window washer reservoir
(3) Not sure... need a better pics or location.
(4) Cruise Control Servo
(5) Rubber 4 port connector for emission vacuum lines
(6) EVR on top.. TAB &TAD Solenoids below
(7) Check valve and vacuum lines for emissions components
(8) Check valve for HVAC
(9) A/C wot cutoff and fuel pump relay
(10 and 11) we've already talked about
Here's the pics man. The bottom thing I think is the charcoal chamber and I have pulled it out but it has stuff going to it I'm not sure about. Plus it has 3 sensors going to it as well.

Yes that's the Charcoal Cannister.
3 sensors
Since you've decide to eliminate the charcoal canister what you'll need to do is run a length of 3/8 fuel hose from the vent valve on the tank out the back under the bumper. See last attachment
