Hey guys i just busted out the digital camera and thought i would post some pics of my stang here, keep in mind i got this from a friend for 250$ after it was sitting in a garage for 8 years, which explains the drivers side door and it only having 65k on it, also it started right up after a battery charge to get it out of the garage. The pics of the interior is what i have done so far, seat covers, cleaing, new carpet and new cluster/molding, it still needs a headliner in there also. On the exterior in gonna give it a fresh coat of black paint after i sand the body down and get rid of all the weak spots, polish up the wheels and i have a new set of firestone firehawk tires, fatter ones on the rear i will be putting on. On top of all this i have a holley 4 bbl carb im gonna replace for the motorcraft 2 bbl and a high torque starter.

...And weighs in way under 3000 lbs. Sweet score. Plus, as far as I know,
it's the only non-HO 5.0 fox Stang that Ford produced. Keep in mind that your
flexplate and balancer and crankshaft are all 28 oz. imbalance - all of the
HO stuff is 50 oz. imbalance. BUT, you can swap a 351W in there using
your old balancer and flexplate.

that engine is a 5.0 non ho? is that just cuz it's carb or because of the year? also, keep in mind that the non ho 5.0's use the 302 firing orderrather than the windsor firing order like the ho's, ne who if u break a tail light you can get one off of a farimont, early 80's i think, i don't remember

The '79 was pretty much the same engine (despite running changes like
the rocker arms) as the '72.
In '80 and '81 there was no 302 in the Stang, just the 255. 302 was avail-
able in LTDs and trucks and was still the same - except in '81 they changed
the imbalance factor, I'm pretty sure that '81 302s are 50 oz. engines - as are
all subsequent production 302s till the end of the run.
In '82 the musclecar was back. Ford made the 302 available in the Stang
once again, but now it was in HO form. The heart of the HO setup was the
351W marine cam - which changed the firing order. I had one from '92 till
'99 - with a '79 302. Learned about the balance thing when I set about to
find out why my new motor vibrated.
All 351Ws are 28 oz.
255s changed around some too, but I don't know anyone who runs one.
