New York dealer offers colored tires
December 22, 2004
In Russ Preischel´s world, tires aren´t just colored black. They also come in red, yellow, blue, orange, purple and three other hues.
Preischel, a partner in Hamburg, N.Y.-based Preischel Brothers Service Inc., a commercial truck tire dealership, began selling remolded, colored passenger and light truck tires last week through his www.coloredtiresusa.com Web site.
"These colored tires utilize the latest in remolding technology available in the industry today," says Preischel. "All tires are visually and electronically inspected from the beginning stages of production all the way through to the finished product.
"After the tire is prepped for processing, colored rubber composite and veneers are applied. Then the tire is placed in a state-of-the-art molding process providing a permanent bond."
The tires are being supplied by a Canada-based company that Preischel declined to identify. More than 90 sizes are available, he says.
There are no plans to sell the tires at Preischel Brothers´ outlet. "I´m basically targeting the tuner market," which is more Internet savvy than conventional tire buyers, he adds.

SWEET!!! but would that put off coloured smoke? after all my tires are black, i leave white smoke, also, i do know they make tires like that, high performance ones, i remember it from an episode of CSI las vegas, where the blonde chick, the older not quite so hot chick was kidnapped with the cut off finger and the dead chick and the laywer who is the accomplice with the murder and all, ne who to leave tire tracks, she slamms the brakes and locks up the front tires, then grissum notices the blue rubber on the road and knew it was a high end car i think it was a mercedes or lexus or something (toyota sucks)

nothing in a half decent size, 205 215 maybe with the stock tire wall, nohing wide enough to be decent the widest they have are a 235 which is fine and dandy but it will rub i know it will because it's a 235 75 15, and i know it will rub cuz that's what i have, it rubs on the back bottom of the rear fender, i have no paint there on my car ne more because of it, i have to do some sealing b4 it rusts on me too...

Sorry, but they look tacky to me. especially in powdered blue. (Just an old fashioned guy, NOT, but still.)
And I think this sums it up> Quote:"I´m basically targeting the tuner market," which is more Internet savvy than conventional tire buyers, he adds."
I dont know about "more savvy", but lord knows ricers will go for anything brightly colored, . Kinda like Racoons in that way.
Makes me wonder if clear tires are next:Show off the inside of your rims, lol
As to colored smoke:
The conversations has evolved into two seperate things, exhaust smoke, and burnout smoke.
For exaust smoke:
Seems the simplest way would be with some kind of colored light mounted low and covered from outside view but still aimed into the exaust path. Or even in the tips. The glow should reflect around in the exaust for a bit even after it exits the pipe. No idea how far tho.
As to tire smoke, good point about black tires/white smoke. only thing I can think of is this:
My hypothesis: (I'm sure someone can help out on this one) We know bleach aids in producing copious smoke, so something in the bleach/rubber/heat combo does it, and reflects all spectrum of light (hence white smoke). Find out how/why this happens, and find another chemical that acts similarly, but reflects on a different wavelength. (Actually, after thinking about this, I guess you'd need the particles of smoke to reflect differently, and I dont know if that would work on a microscopic level, using any type of commercial regular/colored rubber.
My heads starting to hurt.
Just my .02

my guess as to why the smoke was yellow is because there is a sealer on the blacktop. we put sealer on our driveway and when we did a burnout on it with my step dads camaro (take it easy its not mine) the smoke was yellow. its really cool in person
led lights eh? that would work, also what was the brand on that sealer? i could put a coat of that on my tires and then do a burn out @ the track, but as for the exhaust smoke, i am looking for an additive type thing, like i know if u burn iodide crystals it will produce purple flame and smoke. but that's not something i would want to put in my gas tank, would look cool but i don't think it would do any good for the engine, like carb kleen will prodice white smoke, that could be fun! blind the other drivers ne ideas?

welp my .02 on this is you need some chemicals on the road, ive made smoke screens for one of my chem classes and heres a list of the chemicals we used to create them.
Hey man, hit it with a 350 shot of N2O and cut the fuel off, That'll give you plenty of colored smoke. Then after the car is taken off to the junk, you can buy an import and burn the nifty pink tires off of it all you want. And hey, they actually make the sizes that'll fit! What a bonus!

lmao! that's funny, but hey saj, do u know if i can just burn my tires on that and cause it to do that? or do u accually have to light it with a match or somethng? also, are you meaning put that in the gas and use itfor the exhaust? and also, would that mess up my engine @ all? i was kinda thinking it might be like a sugar in the gastank type thing
