Default Winter stangin'

Hi, i'm a newbies to stangs but I'm looking to buy one 5.0 in the end of february ( when my bank will "give" me money ). So I was wondering if a mustang is rideable in winter. I often see mustang 1994 and up on the streets here in Quebec ( Canada for those who dont know ) but I guess those are V6 that made 145 -190 hp so I was asking myself if a 5.0 is rideable under extreme attention in winter and snow ( with winter tire and "clou", maybe its claw or stud in english, not sure ). My father has a 300 2005 and there is no problem in winter but anyway , wanted to know for a non-traction controlled highly powered stock 5.0 ( 87-93)

thanks a lot

Thumbs up High powered fox body

Whoa there crazy man, i dont know about a 'high-powered' fox body in the snow. My 87 lx gets sideways in second gear on dry pavement without the clutch! And its stock besides some headers and a short throw shifter. So a high powered fox body would be pretty nuts in the snow but, since you live up there and you're probly used to driving on icy roads you'd prolly be ok as long as you weren't goin to fast. I live in Colorado and we just got five feet last year so i know driving a mustang in the snow isn't that hard, nor is it that easy, im pretty much used to driving sideways because of the way i drive and all of the dirt roads i have driven and raced on (in my jeep pick up truck- not my baby) I'd say a stock fox bodied GT with some snow tires (studded) and maybe chains on really bad days would be ok, but my 1994 GT is alot heavier than a fox body, an i haven't had the pleasure of testing my insanity on icy roads with my 87 Lx yet so... If ur gonna get one, get one that is relatively stock and TAKE IT EASY FOR HEAVENS SAKE!
