marti report came today, as it turns out 87 t tops are not that rare. 7,314 t top cars in 87

When you consider that 87 cars are now 26 years old and of that 7000+ cars only do many are still around, it is a pretty rare car to find. Especially since they didn't sell them after 87.

As a comparison, they only made 5000 93 Cobras.

A well maintained t top car should go for more money than a regular GT.

I have one for my 88 with t-tops.It just happens to be the same colors as yours.Blue with silver.

There is a guy with an 89 T-top car that lives down the road from me. He says people tell him all the time that his car doesn't exist.

If I recall you could still order t tops in 89 through dealers and the dealer did the installation. I've also heard of people taking a t top roof and putting it onto a newer year car.

most likely its not a real t top the only way to tell would be to look at the drivers door and look for a D on the door tag

The T-roof option stopped about two months after the '88 model year started production.

The car is a T-top, and an 89...
Beyond that, I don't own the car, or know the VIN, so it's not my fight.

Next time I see him, I'll be sure to be nosey about it.
I just know that he claims it came that way, and talks about people challenging him on the subject all the time, and he laughs about it.
