Angry 1988 Notchback tire size help

Hey everyone, I am in the middle of finishing a 5 lug conversion on my 88 notchback. I have purchased the Ford Motorsports 17x9 Cobra R 5 spoke wheels. I am trying to get a consistant answer on tire sizing. I have been told a few combos, maybe the real Mustang enthusiasts will know the real deal. 1st option I was told was 245/45/17 in the front 275/40/17 rear. 2nd option I was told that 275/40/17 won't fit in the rear and run 255/45/17 all around but maybe run a spacer in the back for a wider stance. Now a 3rd option is run a 255/45/17 in the front because a 245/45/17 is to small of a tire for a 9" wide rim and a 275/40/17 in the rear but I might have to roll my rear fenders but then also the 255 might rub the inside of the tire on suspension parts. Before I make a mistake and buy the wrong size tires, can anyone lend me solid advise?

Thanks...John

umm 275 is the max width for the rear unless you put a higher backspacing on the wheel

245 is the largest for the front possible (i rubbed with 245s just to let you know... i run 235 45 17s now on a 8 inch front rim, 265 45 17 rear or 17X9 rim
